Coronavirus Anxiety

Saeda, on March 11, 2020 at 2:06 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22
Hi everyone! I wanted to know if anyone else was feeling very anxious and almost stressed about the Coronavirus madness happening. My wedding is March 29th in Dallas and I’m supposed to be going on my honeymoon to Jamaica a day after. We still have around two weeks to go but I can’t help but overthink about everything that’s happening. I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way. Some good advice/ travel advice as well will really help calm me down. Thanks so much.

There are a ton of posts over your same anxiety. Truth be told, unless you're planning a cruise, you should be fine. Wash your hands with soap and water. Look at the John Hopkins website which shows up to the minute information regarding the coronavirus.

Airlines are reducing travel because people are afraid to travel. Unless the area you are traveling to is truly infected, you should be fine.

We just got back from our honeymoon 2 days ago to Turks and Caicos! We felt completely fine throughout the airports, customs, and on the island! TCI didn't have any cases of Cornavirus so I wasn't about to cancel my honeymoon. Just wash your hands for 20 seconds, and if you'd like, bring hand wipes to wipe down your seat in the plane (there were a few people doing this on our flight back to the US).

Deep breaths! The hysteria is, well, kind of just that. Overcautious and causing a lot of anxiety. Be wary, wash your hands, avoid a huge crowd, but you should be ok with a wedding where you know everyone and everyone is local. We're planning on going ahead unless someone makes us cancel, and even then we'll have a ceremony with our families. My aunt was marrying us anyway.

My nightmare came true due to this coronavirus. My guest count went down to the 20’s and I had no choice but to postpone my wedding which was suppose to be in 4/4/20 back home in NJ. I literally have felt every emotion to angry yo sad to mad to plane old crying. I burst into tears this morning in my managers office to let her know because she was going to fly down to my wedding. I currently live in Houston, TX. I had to contact all mr vendors, and I have to contact my seamstress who has my wedding dress. To say I’m disappointed and heartbroken is an understatement. I have to do what’s best for myself as well as I have kidney failure and I am more susceptible to infections. In need of some inspirational thoughts and prayers and virtual hugs. 😢😢😢😢

I just talked to my FH on the phone. One of his co-workers was traveling to London then going to Italy after that. She was planning on cancelling the Italy part of her trip as it was and just staying in London. Her daughter lives there. They wouldn't allow her to leave the country right now. I'm not sure if it's because she was planning or had tickets to Italy that caused the issue. But she wasn't allowed to go to London as of right now.

I am 60 days out and the window to cancel without financial penalties is quickly approaching so yes I am stressing out. I am in Houston getting married in Austin and we have had two major large gathering events cancelled in both cities with rising outbreaks....

I'm on the same boat! We have a lot of guest flying in from other states and a couple of guest flying from my country. Postponing the wedding has come up and it really breaks my heart to think about it. I'm pretty sure if we were to postpone at the very least we would probably loose our venue deposit. 🥴

I refuse to cancel. Immediate family is local and will come even if we have to cancel the reception portion and keep it small. I have been so excited to get married I wont let this take that away! I'm still hopeful things will stay on track.

I’m as worried and stressed as you are. We’re getting married in June 6 of this year in Miami, FL and then going to japan and Thailand for our honeymoon the day after. This is getting so frustrating, especially because we also have a lot of out of state guests flying in. I don’t know what to do at this point.

My wedding is on March 29th too. My parents and half of my bridesmaids are flying in to Chicago from Puerto Rico. I think there's a lot of media hype going on but it's still scary. Most of our other guests are local but the most important ones (other than the groom) will have to fly in. So much stress!! We're just waiting to see what happens within the next two weeks.

At this point in time it’s ok to keep moving forward unless your guest list legit is mostly not coming
