Coordinating Sparkler Send Off

FutureMrsB, on March 12, 2018 at 4:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hi all! So i read previous posts about sparkler send off (so I know all of the ways that they can go wrong!), but I wanted some specific advice about when I should do mine. The venue requires that music be off & majority of guests out @ 11pm. When should we do our sparkler send off? Should the DJ play last song at a certain time and then send guests to line up? Or should the music be playing during the send off? I can't think of which way would be best!

You can do this either way...where is your send off happening outside and your reception inside? This would determine if you would like to hear the music as you are leaving. If the music is still playing you can do a send off at 10:45pm-ish i guess. I think you can do it regardless if the music is on or off. But around this time some guest may have already left so people would probably be packing up. Your DJ can always announce your sparkler send off earlier it all depends on you. Do you have a photographer or videographer shooting it? Will they be leaving at 11 as well or earlier? Sparkler send offs can also be staged by the photographer with your guests if your photographer isn't there the entire duration.

We are doing this too, except for us between 10 and 11 is when the cleanup hour is. So even though guests can stay until 10, we are having the send off at 9:30 because then it gives people time to go back to the reception area, gather up their things, get the last minute wedding favors and then head to their cars. Then it's more a guarantee that guests who aren't needed for clean up are actually on their way off property before 10. Also having the last song be before sparkler send off so people know the party is over!
