Coordinating Groomsmen Suits

Angelica, on June 8, 2017 at 9:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 8

How are you guys handling your groomsmen attire? I know that's usually more the groom's job, but my fiance is currently deployed so I'm trying to get some things done for him.

He'll only have 3 in his party (Best Man and 2 groomsmen), the problem is they're spread out all over the country. So I can't exactly get them together for a fitting and I'm not sure how to rent suits. Will we cover the cost? Do I just tell them what to get and hope for the best?

How formal is your wedding? You could give them guidelines of what color suit, tie etc to wear. Or u can set up for them to rent them from Savvy =which has stores everywhere, if you want a more uniform look. Usually groomsmen are expected cover their own cost for their attire

    Go to

Mens warehouse and pick out suits, color and fit and the whole shebang to rent. Text information to groomsmen so they can go to their local men's warehouse and get it

We are doing rentals from The Black Tux (they also carry suits, which is what we are doing.)

The people who need suits (FH's 4 guys and my Man of Honor) are spread out all over, so we love that it's all online. One guy is in Italy, one is in Virginia, one is in Seattle, and two are here in the Twin Cities.

The Black Tux. Choose what you like and send them the information. In the USA and Canada it is not traditional to pay for the wedding party outfits as it is in the UK. I doubt however that they would object if you choose to cover the rental.

I just told the guys to wear a grey suit and white shirt, doesn't matter what shade of grey. We are providing the ties and socks that will bring it all together. It's an outdoor wedding so I feel like we can get away with it being less formal.

I can’t stand when grooms make groomsmen rent tuxedos. I was in a wedding recently that used SnapSuits (http://www.snapsuits.com/) for custom tuxedos and they turned out great. $250, 14 day delivery, totally custom, and don’t have to sport a worn-out, out-of-style tux that you can’t even keep. Great customer service too–I had to get my sleeves shortened a touch and they paid for the tailoring. Grooms–NO MORE RENTALS PLEASE!!!

FH went to men's wearhouse and picked out the vest and tie color. We left the rest up to them. We wanted black tuxes and let them pick out whatever black tux they liked and was in their price range. You can pick exactly what you want and call MW and have them set up an account with what you want and how many guys will be coming in. Then your guys just go get fitted for the tux you picked.
