Cookies

Amber, on May 25, 2017 at 10:46 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

I am from Pittsburgh so the cookie table is not optional for me. I am inviting 204 guests. I expect 175ish to come. How many cookies would you say per person? Or how many dozens all together? Thank you!!!

We already bought plastic containers so I am not worried about left overs! We are also having cake and cupcakes. I updated it Kate!

In all seriousness, about 4 per person is a good number and have take out bags are great.

Our guests really wanted to take our dessert table home because we put out way too much food lol. At least it did not go to waste.

I second Kate - probably at least 2 varieties is safe enough.

    How big are the cookies?

ETA: The only reason I ask is because I can eat 10 mini cookies, 3-4 regular size, 2 big cookies, and 1 jumbo cookie - you know what I'm talking about.

Oh yummy! I would definitely eat more cookies than cake so have plenty extra. Is it like a self serve cookie station? Because if it is self serve people will eat more cookies, but if you plan to portion the cookies on plates (similar to serving cake/cupcakes) then people will hopefully only eat their portion.

@lanette It is self serve! We will have containers for people to take some home. I read on someones post on google somewhere 1 dozen per person.... I thought that might be too extreme but maybe not.

I would do at least 4 cookies for each guests. It is easier for them to just pick up and move along. Plus, if you have kids they will love the cookies as well. I want to say we had around 6 different kinds of cookies and then mini cheesecakes that were plain and 2 different toppings along with our cake. We hardly had anything left over. We are about 45 mins from you and the cookie table was a huge hit for us.

4 per person if cookies are the only dessert, but maybe like 500 cookies total as a nice round number in addition to your other dessert(s)

We did 3-4 cookies per person (which is what our bakery suggested), we also had cake, ice cream, and an Indian dessert at our reception. The cookie table had cookies, cannoli, and cream puffs. We had prob about 4-ish dozen leftover cookies and cream puffs.
