Cookie centerpieces

cassondra, on November 27, 2018 at 6:13 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

We have a completely diy venue as a side note.

We will be doing cookies as our dessert and cutting a cookie cake as our wedding cake, That being said has anyone ever done edible centerpieces? I think it would be easier and save some room if we had a nice decorative jar with the cookies on each table and a small cutesy note saying not to eat until cake has been cut....thoughts? has this been done?

I love the idea. I went to a wedding and each table had a simple but beautiful cake and cake knife as the centerpiece. Each table had a different cake, and they were large enough to get a slice from a couple (or four, I love cake) different tables.

Will they get stale from sitting out? Or will the chocolate melt if it's too hot? I'd be worried about people eating them early, or not realizing they are dessert because they are centerpieces. Or kids grabbing them immediately and putting their hands on all the cookies.

No we will have them in a jar and it is indoors so the temp will be controlled. i've also planned for little signs that say basically to wait until after the meal but in a cute little rhyme.

Make sure they have a lid! If you have any kids invited they can get grabby when they see sweets! Otherwise sounds like a really unique idea, love it

When FH were discussing the pros and cons of the top 2 venues, we realized one didnt include cake. So we were going to do cupcakes and a cutting cake if we chose that. We were going to do a piece like this for the centerpieces with cupcakes instead of candles.
