Hi all, our venue only offers open bar by consumption. I know this will vary by area, type of crowds and # of guests but if you could share if you had a consumption bar what your total tab was and note: your guest count, beer and wine only VS full open bar and duration? We're just trying to gauge what kind of bar tab we may be in for?! Lol

@GrnSubmarine - I think we may opt for open beer and wine possibly with a sig drink....that may help in people wanting to try a wide variety of mixed drinks (although they will likely drink more of the beer and wine) oh well, in the end be prepared for the worst and hope for the best I'm sure we'll be too busy to notice all the empty drinks being left behind, or taken away half full etc (although I dont even drink....so hoping I don't notice...that'll drive me NUTS!! lol

When my brother had his wedding in California, they had an open consumption bar. For about 100 or so people in a 4 hour time frame, the bar tab was roughly $6,500-$7000... His guests were big drinkers.

Yeah, @harleybeachbride that has to be per hour lol. Ours for full bar would have been $11/pp for the first hour and $6/pp for every hour after that

I agree with @steagles. Check their bussing habits. Our work holiday party they took our drinks soooo fast. They were clearly just trying to make more money. There was a photobooth and they would linger there so if you put your drink down for a second it was gone. My coworker even put her name tag on the drink so they took her name tag and her drink away.

We only had consumption for our last hour (first 4 was open bar). We had 67 guests but 57 were 21+. Total was $225 (beer was $5, wine $6 and liquor $7).
