Consultation appointment for alterations

on June 11, 2019 at 12:01 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
So I go tomorrow at 2pm for a consultation appointment for my wedding dress alterations. I haven't seen my dress since March. I can't wait to put it back on with all the accessories but dreading the amount of cost. Plus I'm scared that something may go wrong. I need the straps and sides taken in, cups sewn in, hem taken up, and a bristle. The bridal boutique I bought the dress from quoted me 700-900 because of multiple layers and fabric. My FH sweet Aunt offered to pay half of alterations as a bridal shower gift and my mom gave me 300.00 to use toward the dress. Fingers crossed it doesn't cost that much. Here is the pictures before.

Your dress is gorgeous! That picture of the back... WOW! I’m sure you’ll fine. Enjoy the appointment and don’t worry too much about the final bill.

Your dress is gorgeous!!! 😍 I had the exact same alterations done on my dress (with 7 layers of fabric, and wanted to keep the appliqués on the hem) and it was only $250. I did research and went with a different tailor instead of David’s Bridal where I bought my dress. Hopefully the bill isn’t too bad!

That's very expensive for the alterations you require. I would get quotes from other places! Your dress is gorgeous. Love the train.

Gorgeous. My dress had to be taken in a lot because I lost weight. The alterations were $400.

Yes I know that is why I was taking it to a private seamstress. Thank you so much. I have never been much of a train girl but feel in love with this one.

Thank you so much. I had fun. My FH Aunt went with me. We grabbed lunch, went to dress alterations appointment, then went for a celebratory drink.

Thanks it will be $425-475 at the capped maximum. I comfortable with that because she will be taking up straps, sewing in cups, taking in both sides, bringing up 8 layer hem, and probably an 8-10 point bustle. The bridal shops are always way more over priced
