Constantly crying while picking out details?

Samarah, on September 25, 2013 at 12:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

Is anyone else finding themselves crying at things like the songs you'll dance too, or the ideas for flowers...or am I all alone here? I've been picking stuff out and writing it down so I don't forget it, and every time I think of dancing to this, or looking at that...I start crying. I know emotional are all askew during wedding planing, but crying all the time is normal right?

FH and I tear up over the song selections all the time. We love music..love how touching lyrics can be!

The other things are not as emotional for us, at least not yet!

I feel like I'm crying over everything these days...my grandmother says that neither she nor my mom cried as much as I have when they were planning their weddings and my great-grandmother said her wedding was all planned for her- all she had to do was show up.

Yes I Have been tearing up with certain things here and there, particularly songs. Whenever I get a "vision" of what things are going to look like though, I get all emotional. I am going to be so pissed at myself if I have ugly-cry face when I walk down the aisle. I better be able to keep myself composed!

Stress comes out in many different ways. I don't think you should compare to others in your family. If you are handling most of the planning and are an emotional person, then you may be the water-works factory for a while. I know I have found myself getting teary while thinking of the dances that we are picking out songs. I even cried because I decided I HATED the first save the dates I designed and put tons of work into. Don't sweat it unless you feel like you are getting depressed - then call a friend and crack open the wine! LOL. Seriously though, its all just stress coming out.

@Laura... I am with you, I cry when I try to picture things or when I have my dress on and I am thinking of "the day" but other than that it does make me smile and get emotional but not too many actual tears LOL. Also, Samarah, it's nice to know I am not the only one planning so far in advance! Woot Woot haha

@Ashley, our date is kinda dependent upon funds..if I find out that things are cheaper than I expected, I'm going to push the wedding up quite a bit Smiley xd I just have to stop going on vacations first.

I cry over everything. It's bordering on ridiculous at this point.

My FH and I were so excited at first and started planning but in the last month or two we've been super busy with work and other things. But the 12month mark is coming up and we're trying to have a few things booked within the next month. I have been listening to songs for our first dance at work and tell me why did I almost cry at my desk lol. Ribbon in the Sky is my favorite song so far and it truly touches my heart.... #crybaby

I have teary spells also, just starting to plan but dealing with a my father having cancer. Hoping he will be there to walk me down the aisle. MY mother passed when I was a kid so he is all I have for parents and we are VERY close. Between this and job stress and FH is a student under stress with a psycho family, sometimes its all I can to do to keep it together.

Update:: I think I managed to gain enough self control to stop crying long enough to make a few decisions. We now have the venue, and I found the father-daughter dance song I want (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie9VxRF7ucM) and since my dad is my stepdad I feel that it fits, he's been married to my mom since I was 14. Next step, finding dresses with out crying Smiley laugh

The only time I got like that during planning, was when I was putting the officiant's script together and our vows. I didn't actually bawl or drop tears, but definitely felt emotional over it.

I cry happy tears when I picture us dancing to our first dance, see him standing at the end of the aisle with my 10yr old son walking me down, when I read over my ceremony, when I hear my processional song...yeah I'm right with you!

I didn't get overly emotional until a month ago, when everything was finalized and it was time to relax. I cry over everything these days!

So far, the only time I've cried (happy tears of course) was when we picked our date. Didn't cry at the dress or anything, which is so weird. But when we picked our date - it was emotional because we were picking our anniversary for the rest of our lives. I was so happy when we finalized it!
