Confused?

Kayla, on July 16, 2021 at 9:17 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 13
Okay so when we do the rings at the ceremony do I leave my engagement ring on? Or do I take it off and he outs the wedding band on then my engagement ring?

It's really preference, but traditionally, you would have your engagement ring off so he can put the wedding band on (it should be closer to your heart than the engagement ring). I forgot about it and just slipped my finger off right before the ring exchange, but honestly, you could just flip them afterward.

I’m planning to wear my engagement ring on my right hand for the ceremony so he can slide the band on to my left hand!

I wore my engagement ring on my opposite hand and he put my wedding band on the correct hand then after the ceremony I moved my engagement ring back to the correct hand.

I wore my engagement ring and he placed the band in front of it. After the ceremony, I switched it so my band was on the inside.

Hi ! Don't make the same mistake I did 😁 - I forgot to take off / put it on the opposite hand and I realised that being at the altar 🤣. So while sitting I discretely put it on the other hand...

I've been told to have the engagement ring on your right hand so he can place the wedding band on your finger. Move the engagement ring over after the ceremony. Smiley smile

I was wondering this same thing so thank you for asking Kayla!! Did anyone here fuse their engagement ring with their wedding band?? I am interested in that possibility but I do not know much about it.

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand and then moved it over after the ceremony (before pictures). It felt a little weird on my right hand, but I only had to get through about an hour or so with it there and then I was able to put it back.

Soldering your rings together is a personal preference. If you know you will never want to wear them separate then I saw solder them, but if you might wear them separate from each other hold off. Maybe try to keep them separate for a while before making your final decision.

I heard this as well, but my ring did not fit on my right ring finger! so I just kept my engagement ring on my left hand and swapped the rings after the ceremony before pics.

I did like almost everyone here, put it on my right hand right before I walked down the aisle. It did feel weird lol. But my friend just took hers off altogether. Put it back on between the wedding and reception. Personal preference. Do what you're comfortable with!

The engagement ring is traditionally worn on the ring finger of the left hand and is not removed during the wedding ceremony. After that, the wedding band is placed on the same finger, closest to the heart.
