Condiments on a buffet

Soon2B Mrs Shuey, on October 13, 2015 at 8:22 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Hi, my name is Jen and I am a saltaholic.

I was just at a wedding this past weekend and the food was served buffet style. There was one salt and pepper shaker at the end of the line. After I was seated and started eating, I had to return to the buffet line twice to salt my food. I was planning on doing the same thing at my reception. This got me thinking, should each table have their own salt and pepper?

I would say absolutely each table should have their own.

Each of our 20 tables are having the following set up: 2 sets of salt and pepper shakers, 2 sugar dishes and 2 butter dishes.

It's a pain to have to try and reach around a large table or constantly ask your neighbour to pass you something.

Thanks all for your input. I will definitely put them on the tables.
