Concerns

Emma, on May 30, 2019 at 10:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hello,

I am about to book my videographer. I am blessed that my mom will be paying for our wedding. She had addressed some concerns in regards to the videographer and photographer fighting over shots. She also said “I want you to be in the moment and not have this be a big production. You need to spend time with your guests and not be posing for the camera”. I completely agree and I want everything to flow and be natural. Did y’all have any issues with this?

i addressed my mothers concerns with the videographer and he said that they will communicate with the photographer but they will want a few certain/particular shots (which I think is fair)

thoughts?

While there are definitely shots that are formal portraits (bride and groom with certain members of the family, etc), the photographers often take candid shots throughout the night. Most wedding pictures I've seen are candids. Also, yes, the professionals should be able to work together to not get into each other's way.

A professional photographer or videographer will have experience working with others and this shouldn’t be an issue. As for spending time with your guests, most posed shots are taken before the ceremony or during cocktail hour. It’s rare that the photographer will stop you and ask you to pose for a picture in the middle of your reception.

Since both are pros, it's unlikely they'll butt heads. You've got nothing to worry about Smiley smile

    Hey Emma!

As long as you have expressed these concerns to your Videographer and photographer, everything should run smoothly. As the pp's have mentioned, they are both professionals who do this all the time, so they will be sure to communicate with each other.

Your mom is so right about being in the moment and not being preoccupied with posing for the camera. A major advantage of this is that you will also get some amazing candid shots!Smiley love
