Communication with Bridesmaids

Francesca, on July 27, 2015 at 11:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

So I am just getting started with wedding planning and thinking of sharing my plans with my bridal party as I go (if they want to know). I'm looking for helpful ways to communicate to the group (all members of the party don't know one another yet, I'll introduce them eventually, but for now they mostly just know about each other). What are some good ways to communicate to the group for things such as, just showing them what I've had in mind for dresses, or anything else that's necessary as we go along?

Thanks in advance!

I have a group msg on Fb for wedding planning. I made it very clear that I would be very needy during the last month. At first I was wedding 24 7 now I've slowed it down. So when I need to communicate I do it in a msg and we set a day that's good for everyone to get together. I have one for the guys as well. Because they won't make a decision without me. They all said it was my day and I had to be happy Lol. As long as they communicate about the suit's idc about anything else.

I've been in a lot of weddings. Emails are what were always used. I just sent one to my bridesmaids and they got it within 24 hours.

I put together group emails for the important announcements like rehearsal times, dress deadlines, etc. If I needed some quick input on something or just wanted to bounce ideas off of someone, I would just pick a girl and text/IM/email her. To be honest, I have been pretty self sufficient as a bride and haven't needed much from them. But I do suggest adapting to whatever their communication method is to see results.

Email. I hate being a part of FB group messages, especially if I have nothing to contribute at the time.

I was a DIY bride and very self-sufficient like Lauren, so I used email when I wanted to communicate directions, or longer content like ideas for dresses that's pic-heavy. I used texts for shorter stuff. For personal reasons I'm not on FB anymore, but DH did all his coordination through Google Docs, which lets everyone share a folder where you can put everything from directions to instructions to photos.

I started with email but my girls prefer fb messaging. I only use it really for general blasts and I have other detailed convos on the side via another fb message, texts, calls or face to face. The hard part on email is remembering to reply all especially if you are working from your phone.
