Beginner September 2020

Commitment and covid

rdavis8952@gmail.com, on July 8, 2020 at 5:39 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 5

As we get closer to our September 18th wedding date my anxiety grows by leaps and bounds. We have a social responsibility to our guests and ourselves and we have to weigh that very real responsibility with our hopes and dreams for our wedding.

We've reduced our guest count from 140 to 75, moved the venue outside to the beach and implemented 6 feet spacing between guests that are not in the same household. Reception will be on the outside deck and we've dedicated the outside covered patio for dancing with social distance spacers in the floor.

What are you doing to move forward and commit during covid?

My best friend has a wedding sept 19 and she's doing the same. she's also supplying masks and hand sanitizers everywhere. and her buffet has servers now and she won't be displaying her wedding cake. and she will be doing this thing:

    We have the following:
    - staff wearing masks
-masks provided-sanitizer throughout the venue and tables-tables distanced-intimate wedding ceremony-try our best to seat social circles and families together and avoid mixing (will be hard for some guests...)-enforced distancing-venue is at half capacity (250 to 130) we lowered guest count from 150 to 115...still high for me, hoping we have maybe 20-30 declines lol.

We're still having approximately 140 guests (Ohio allows up to 300). Tables will be 6 ft apart, families/co-workers/close friends who see each other often seated together, hand sanitizer provided, our venue has a lot of outdoor space and music can be heard outside. I think I'm going to TRY to find affordable masks ASAP. We'll have a buffet, which will be outside, and staff will be dishing it out instead of guests & they'll have masks & gloves on. I plan on only doing my dance with my husband, dad, & step dad but that's it (I hate dancing).

We actually are doing the same thing - our venue is in a restaurant so indoors we are following restaurant guidelines (mask when not seated) and we are using the patio as the dance floor. We also ordered a ton of mini hand sanitizers to put at each place setting Smiley smile

It sounds like you're being smart and taking safety measure wherever you can!!

Here are a few other good discussions to check out where couples have shared the precautions they're taking: Summer Brides - what covid precautions are you taking?, Socially Distanced Wedding Ideas? and Covid Precautions.
