Colors?

Adele, on June 4, 2019 at 10:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
Hello Everyone!
We are having a winter wedding with the theme “Winter Cabin Under The Stars”. Only thing is we are having trouble with a color scheme. We don’t want the usual ice tones or Christmas colors either. Any ideas? I’ve added a picture of my dress for a jumping off point.
THANKS SO MUCH!

I would definitely incorporate the blue to tie in the color on your dress. Maybe you could do blue with taupe or grey or blue and a chocolate brown? Or you could do a few different shades of blue? If you want to avoid it looking "icy" I would just avoid using silver and blue together.

I think grey and blue would be a pretty color scheme!

I almost got that dress! In fact for awhile I had serious dress regret that I didn’t. My wedding is in September, but I was planning on blues (steel blue looks great with it) and purples. Obviously those don’t really go with your theme, but I would play up the blues.

I think shades of blues and silvers/grey are the perfect colors to portray the theme you are looking for, especially with that dress!
We did a winter wonderland and did navy, slate blue, silver and white. It was lovely.
Winter cabin makes me thing of dark rich colors, hunter green and burgundy, nice heavy flannel, maybe pine cones and holly berries.

Steel blue, taupe, white, sage green and maybe some metallics would look great!

I was actually going for a similar theme, but then changed it because I fell in love with my venue's holiday decor which incorporates more reds, and wanted it to match. But, originally I was looking at slate blues for my bridesmaid dresses and touches of white from frosted christmas trees and garlands with baby's breath, and tied the blues in with blue candle holders to match the dresses, I fell into the icy stage for a minute and it gave me frozen vibes, which I ran from, so I get wanting to avoid that look. Basically, I would suggest very natural winter colors.

Would incorporate the colours of nature, shades of green, brown and blue, to really embrace the winter cabin theme

Hey! We had a reallllyyy tricky time picking our color palette. We wanted something really classy, but FH and I disagreed on the look of a lot of color combos (FH has an rare type of color blindness, causing colors to appear much differently than perceived by people with typical vision.)

We're using grayscale for our June garden wedding, which I'm really excited about: Bride in white, bridesmaids in "fog" (a light, bright, beautiful gray), groomsmen in charcoal suits/ white shirts/ black ties, and groom in black tux/ white shirt/ black bow tie. All flowers are white with greenery. The end result is super classy looking, while leaving a really clean, open color palette. Really the only other colors we have are slight accents of champagne and blush in some linens and background flower decor. Maybe that look could work for you too..?
