Colors of up lighting

Marie, on February 27, 2020 at 3:51 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
This seems like such a small detail but I can’t decide. What color uplights are you guys using, or what color(s) have you seen and liked in the past? Are you matching your uplight colors to your wedding theme colors?
We have a spring wedding that’s pretty colorful (theme is called Boho Secret Garden) but major color is navy blue and green. But we also have pops of yellow and pink. FH votes blue uplights but maybe that would look too clubbish? I guess that’s not a bad thing when it’s late and the music is good (I hope). Maybe if people feel like they’re in a club it’ll be fun.
I was thinking blue and gold, interchanged. But want to see what y’all are doing!

The reception is basically a party. I think blue is a good choice. I think I’m going to do purple and gold

We are doing purple. The venue suggested white for dinner time so we will probably also do white.

We are doing gold/amber. Our wedding colors are black, white, and red. But I’m adding gold hints to make it work. I love how amber uplighting looks! It’s so romantic. Colors of up lighting 1

We’re doing a light purple that almost looks white I guess. Our colors are light gray and silver. It depends on how you want your room to look and think of how photos will turn out. Our wedding coordinator is letting us play around with the up lighting since there’s actually so many variations you can do, like make it warmer or cooler or add more tones of blue than red etc.

Amber or warm white is the most flattering and what I'm using.

Yes! I fell in love with it. My DJ is also willing to change the colors once the dancing and the party starts, so that’s always an option too.

Orange! Even though red may have seemed more “pirate-y” the orange glow in our wine cave looked amazing.

If you hired a photographer I would talk to them and see what they recommend so the color doesn’t mess up pictures.

I think matching up light to your theme colors makes sense

Our theme is tropical sunset so we chose this sunset color (kind of an ombre orange) that our venue had.
