Color dilemma

Christine, on August 9, 2019 at 11:23 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 26
Ok so my wedding is not until November 2020 but I am having a hard time actually sticking to a plan. I have always wanted sunflowers and pumpkins to be the core theme of my wedding, and I mean always since I was little. Now that I putting everything together and think it might be to busy. I'm concerned about the orange and yellow pairing. I was also going to throw in a sandy color and a hazelnut brown to buffer, but The burnt orange I want for Brides maid dress I am concerned will clash woth the sunflower yellow and Pumpkin orange.
Any suggestions?
Indecisive bride to be issues!

If you have pictures of your flowers, maybe other small details, and a photo of the dress put them together and see if you like them. Like I did in this photo. I was trying to figure out what I wanted clothing wise and I already had some flowers I wanted. So I put together photos of outfits online and some of my flowers I have at home.

I would go on Pinterest and see if everything will go together. That really helped me get my ideas down and be able to see what I’m working with. But I think all the colors will be beautiful especially since you are having a fall wedding!

I think those colors won't clash! They seem to work together nicely

It’d look great! Mother Nature uses those colors, why can’t you? It’ll just look like a beautiful fall wedding.

I totally understand.. I am also getting married in Nov 2020 and my FH wants the Florida State Seminole colors Gold and Garnet (translates to wedding colors of Burgundy and Champagne) so I am ok with that being they are fall colors but I want to tie in Fall colors too being thats my favorite time of the year and I too am struggling with color schemes. I thought to have my girls wear different fall color dresses but feel it will be too busy and throw in pumpkins and pinecones and so forth....good luck.. I do think the burnt orange with sunflowers is very pretty.

I personally think it will be fine, it's basically within the same color scheme just two different tones of orange.

Don't fret too much. Regardless of what you choose, it will turn out nice. I didn't have a color scheme at all and it turned out great.

Love that theme! My mom did something similar years ago, but she painted the pumpkins to fit her colors.

I think it will look great! But I can understand feeling like the burnt orange isn’t being represented elsewhere in your decor. If you’re concerned about it clashing, have you considered your girls wearing a more neutral color and then carrying flowers with the orange and yellow tones that your after? Like a taupe or brown?

That does sound pretty busy. Maybe have the bridesmaid dresses the hazelnut/brown color instead. Then it would all flow together better.

Yes I was looking at the Taupe color for the dresses. I like those a lot but we havnt tried anything on yet and once we do I think it will be more clear on what I want. I have some swatches in the mail and will get them soon to help my decision.

My best advice is to do what makes your heart happy. We are getting married in 10 days and here at the end of planning I can say that the decisions that we made were based on what felt right and what we thought looked good and it all came together beautifully! I think your color scheme and the pumpkin/flower combo is beautiful and if that’s what you like then go for it!!!

That’s such a pretty dress! We’re using orange too (plum, burnt orange, and green for flowers). What about if your bouquet incorporated more of the sunflowers and burnt orange, and the bridesmaids had either white/off white and maybe one sunflower so it’s not too busy against the beautiful orange dress? My girls are wearing plum, so their bouquets have off white flowers with pinecone accents, and my bouquet is larger and incorporates all the colors
