Color Coordinating Help

Deleted, on August 7, 2012 at 4:01 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

Need some opinions here... I am trying to decide which combination of linens to choose and it is just hard for me to picture and decide between colors!!

Our wedding colors will be a combination of purple and green (I know I know, another purple bride..)

The BM's dresses will be purple, the bouquets mostly green with hints of purple... I am not completely set on the actual shades of the colors yet and might add another color or two to the pallet.

Anyway, we want to do colored table runners under our centerpieces (pictured below), colored napkins, and colored chair sashes. The chair covers and table cloths will be white as supplied by the venue.

Now for these runners, napkins, and sashes... Should we do all green.. All purple... Or a combination like... purple runners and sashes with green napkins?? I'm kind of wanting to do some sort of combination but I just can't decide what would look best, and I don't want to overdo the purple either. Thoughts??

Hi, I'm purple & green with Peacock Feathers LMAO!!!!

    I'm alternating here's my layout...

All tables, napkins & chairs - black satin

I will have 5 tables w/ a Purple lace Overlay & a Purple runner - chair sashes for those tables will be purple.

The other six tables will have a Green lace Overlay & Green runners. Those chairs will have the green sashes,

Lol good to see another purple and green bride! Smiley winking

Ooh I didn't think of alternating the actual tables....

So do you think keeping the runners and sashes the same color, and having the napkins a different color would look good?

Like... white table cloth with a purple runner, green napkins, and white chair covers with purple sashes?

I like the mixed option. I pictured it in my head and think it looks cute Smiley smile like the purple is a dark enough color that the green would give it a refreshing pop.

If you decided (within you budget) to do alternating chair sashes like every other chair purple every other chair green, that might look cool too.

But thats if you can swing it budget wise, and if it even makes a difference from a $$ stand point.

I think combination is best. Gives more to look at. You want people to look around, not be focused on one spot. By alternating colors, it allows the eyes to travel.

We alternated tables with our colors 3 were brown with pink napkins and 7 were pink with orange napkins. I think the alternating really is the best way to go Smiley smile

I think a combination of the 2 would look great. Like a bolder purple and light shade of green. I had a light shade of green for my wedding. Here's what it looked like. It might look good with the purple u are using. Good Luck. Smiley smile

EdieKristen - White Table Clothes, White Napkins & White Chair Covers will look fab with the Purple & Green runners & chair sashes. LOL - that's what I'm doing but mine are black

Now you could double them up, hopefully I'll explain this right :-) You could do both Green and Purple runners on the table lay them opposing each other so it makes an X on the table but then I would do both the green & purple chair sashes together on each chair.

Here's a mock up of one of my tables. For some reason the purple looks more blue but I promise its a true purple in real life

BTW, Hayley's link above is to die for :-)
