Cocktail Tables ?

Danielle , on June 26, 2017 at 8:04 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

Did you do a centerpiece or something else to dress up your cocktail tables? I am pricing things out and just wanted to see if it is a necessary expense. If you have pictures please post them, I would love to see them.

Normally there are candles of some sort on our cocktail tables. Sometimes the bride get smaller arrangements for them. I don't think you need to go crazy with decorations for them.

We're not doing anything. Unnecessary expense, IMO, and I would rather put that money toward more stations/passed apps at cocktail hour. I think our venue provides votive candles. Anything other than that I think takes up too much room on those small tables anyway.

I'd say just small candles is more than enough.

We had a single votive candle on each of the cocktail tables.

I just did a gold votive candle holder. And a red table cloth. The cocktail tables are behind us in this picture. Nothing big at all. Everyone will have their drinks on them anyway.

This was about 10pm. As you can tell as the party goes on a lot of stuff gets set on the tables. You can barely see my little gold candleholder. I'm glad I didn't waste money on anything big for the cocktail tables.

Thank you ladies Smiley smile I was thinking of doing small vases that will hang from shepherd hooks down the aisle for the ceremony and then moving them to the cocktail tables. I talked to my florist and that's an extra $200, I think I will just buy a few extra candles instead.

I usually see very simple stuff; votives, very small vases with single flowers.

I didn't do anything. I think the venue may have put something out.

We went with super small vases with a single flower in them. You can also re-use the bridesmaids bouquets for cocktail table centerpieces!

I am adding glitter to all my votives for all the centerpieces. For the cocktail tables I will just have 2 or 3 glitter votives, our cocktail hour is outside, so I'm hoping the scenery will distract people from us not having flowers on them.

We skipped it. The view is the decor.

We are doing a colored linen instead of white, and a small vase with a single flower.

I agree with pp. Your average cocktail table is 30" wide and once you get people standing around them, as well as, putting their drinks on them you won't have very much space. I say a few votives are you will be fine.
