Cocktail Hour Snacks

Audrey, on March 10, 2020 at 3:35 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10

Our wedding venue provides catering, however we chose not to purchase appetizers through them for our cocktail hour. I'm hoping to gather a list of finger-foods that will keep guests happy during cocktail hour, that are also not too over the top in price.

Thank you!

We are still thinking of it as well. We're looking at the mini version of things we love. We want the food to tell our love story too.

We didn't have our cocktail hour catered either. Instead we got these party platters from Publix, one with fruits, one with veggies, and one with cubed meats and cheeses.

I did the same! We had egg rolls, different fruit platters, and mini muffins

Finger foods are great! We are having a morning wedding with breakfast food reception, so during our social hour after the ceremony we are having pastries, mini muffins, cinnamon knots, and fruit with two kinds of lemonade!

Are you allowed to do this? If so, a simple charcuterie platter would be great: 1-2 meats, 1-2 cheese, crackers and possibly grapes. Simple!

Our only restriction was that it couldn't be anything "homemade" so everything had to be purchased from a store that is licensed and follows food safety guidelines. I'm assuming we could buy the meats, cheese, and crackers and assemble a platter!

Meat & cheese & cracker boards are easy. So are fruit & veggie trays. I've seen meatballs served on mini forks, mini eggrolls, etc. Just anything you can eat in one bite.

Cheese and crackers, fruit trays, tea sandwiches are all inexpensive. Ask your venue what their cheapest appetizer options are, if they require that you're not allowed to bring anything in that they don't prepare.
