Cocktail Hour Location?

I wouldn’t worry about it. Most people don’t sit until someone comes around to tell them it’s time. I wouldn’t pay the extra if you like it the way it is.

You could also rope off the area or put a sign in the way so it creates a sense of separation with it being in the same room.

I wouldn’t worry about it. If anything, you could have a sign with the timeline so that guests know it’s cocktail hour.

Our venue has a similar set up. Most people know not to sit until told to and those who want to sit early are going to take a chance to sit even if they are told not to yet. I think it should be fine. You can also announce something at the end of your ceremony to enjoy cocktail hour so people know not to go straight to sit down dinner or rope it off like someone else said. If they don’t want to enjoy cocktail you can’t stop people.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I went to a wedding where the cocktail hour was in the same area as reception and it was fine even though we were in our seats

If people can see their tables, they will definitely sit down early. If you have it in the budget, I would get a separate space. If not, I wouldn't stress about it.
