Cocktail Hour Food

Amelia, on November 26, 2019 at 1:30 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 15
What did everyone do for cocktail hour food? I didn’t really want to use a caterer for this so I was curious what other ideas were out there!

Normally its finger food, so depending in your guest count you could do cookies or nuts and cheese. Maybe even a candy area or something. Just so guests can graze without needing silverware.

We had a meat and cheese platter with crackers, a fruit platter, a burrito platter, and fried chicken. There was supposed to be pizza too, but the pizza ended up being late and not coming until after dinner.

I'm working on figuring this out too since we won't be having our caterer either. We'll probably do meat and cheese with crackers, a fruit platter, veggie platter and some kind of food with bread or chips.

Lots of people do meat and cheese and finger fruits like grapes. I’ve also seen sushi rolls, puff pastries, etc.

Charcuterie boards are all the rage! I imagine a big charcuterie table would look so stunning at a wedding!

I was planning to get a few fruit and veggie trays from costco, and do some cheese and crackers. Something easy and light, since you don't want them to fill up at cocktail hour, but you don't want them drinking on an empty stomach if there is alcohol.

We did eggrolls and some mini muffins and fruits. I feel like if you dont have caterers it's ok! You could have something like trays and party platters from the store.

We're still deciding on what we want - probably cheese and crackers or a crudite board.

Some other options my venue offers, just for ideas: chips and dip, olives, hummus and pita bread, fruit with yogurt, tots with BBQ pork, and a traditional charcuterie board.

I had our catering create traditional/typical appetizers and bites for our cocktail hour. I have attended multiple weddings that had cheese table with multiple cheeses, fruits and cold cuts. They’re fun and photograph amazing

You can do fruit and Charcuterie with assorted cheese and crackers. I've also seen like a nacho bar with tons of toppings (salsa, guac ,cheese, queso, olives, peppers etc)

Well we had passed hors d'oeuvres from the venue. but it was finger food: kalamata bruschetta, spring rolls, pigs in a blanket, quesadilla, etc.
