Hi everyone. We are starting to decide a time frame and layout for how our wedding day will look. Our venue is about three hours away from most family members, meaning they have quite the drive. We were thinking of having the cocktail hour first for a few reasons. One reason being, when they arrive at the venue they will likely be starving after driving that long distance and would appreciate appetizers at a cocktail hour. Secondly, there is likely to be traffic that day/time so we were thinking if the cocktail hour were first, if a few guests were stuck in traffic they wouldnt miss our ceremony.
The night would look like this
5:30-6:30 cocktail hour
6:30-7:00 ceremony
7:00-11:00 reception

Also, I know I will not be going to the cocktail hour either way (whether it was before or after the ceremony) so that does not bother me.
