Coat Check

Emily, on January 9, 2020 at 10:51 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
I’m planning a May wedding. We aren’t doing “black tie”, but it will be more formal. Is a coat check necessary or even useful for a spring wedding?

I wouldn't bother with a coat check for a May wedding.

If it's in the spring It would most likely be a waste. No one will miss it if they didn't know it was an option.

I agree with PP's, I don't think coat check will be necessary.

Depends on the time of day of your wedding and what the weather is like where you’re getting married. If the weather is mild, probably won’t need it. If there are big temperature swings or it rains a lot, it would be a nice amenity for guests. No one likes sitting with their soggy jacket on the back of their seat all night long. 😊

It think it depends on where you live. Where I'm from we are still wearing coats in May. Heck, it's snowed in May! In my area I would therefore provide coat check for a formal event in May.

Depends on where you live. It might be nice to have something in case of rain!
