Clueless bride ❣️

Alexandra, on February 8, 2019 at 9:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Fellow brides, my FH and I are getting married may 2020. We haven’t booked a thing. We plan to put the deposit on the venue within the next few weeks it’s a smaller venue in our town that we don’t think will book fast that far away. Are we dragging?? Should we have this done already!? And When do we send invites, think we are skipping save the dates.

Thanks in advance 😊

You still have plenty of time! My FH and I are doing everything in the span of 9 months. You'll want to get that venue booked but you are still fine! Invites typically go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding but if you skip save the dates I would do more like 10-12 weeks. Do you have a lot of out of town guests?

You are not dragging at ALL!!

i frequently see posts of BEAUTIFUL and amazing weddings planned in like 6 and 8 months!!

mine was essentially planned in 6 or less to be honest with you, but we're taking 18 to pay so i just get to look at each, individual, fine detail and refine it into something perfect for us in the meantime

im glad for the extra time and i have actually had to opportunity to think things to a ridiculous amount and have come up with tons of ways to save a ridiculous amount of money so we are having a wedding that would cost around 83k for like ****

have fun and use the time to shop your vendors extra carefully and be 1,000% sure about every detail before contracting anyone for anything

happy planning and try to not stress!

I think the area you plan to have your wedding in has a pretty big impact on how far in advance you need to book things! We really wanted a September date and those need to be booked up pretty far in advance where our wedding is. If a May date at the venue you would like is still bookable about a year out then you’re not behind. I would start saving up for deposits etc now though so you can book your preferred vendors like photog (those seem to book pretty far in advance) once you have a date Smiley smile If you aren’t doing save the dates maybe send invites a little earlier than the normal 8 weeks our, perhaps more like 12 weeks before the wedding? Have fun planning!

No you have plenty of time! I didn’t book a venue until 10 months in advance.

    May 2020 bride here!

We’ve booked our ceremony venue but are still touring reception venues so no worries if you think the venue will stay open 😊

We have our cake baker and photographer chosen and asked, but mostly because we knew ahead of time who we wanted, so as soon as we had our ceremony venue and date, we booked them as well.

I have my dress because I had gone to a trunk show.

We still have quite a bit to do, so you have plenty of time!!
