Clip in extensions vs sewn?

Brittney, on September 7, 2017 at 10:17 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Who is getting clip in extensions for the wedding?? I went to a beauty supply store and couldn't find my color in any of the clip ins but some of the sewn ones matched. I'm nervous I won't find the right color. Anyone doing sewn in/braided in extensions? I don't have much experience with extensions period.

Yep! I'm getting a sew in. I would talk to a reputable hair dresser and get her advice.

Clip in! All the way. I've heard horror stories of the sew-in damaging hair really bad.

If you purchase bleach blonde clip ins you can dye them the color of your hair Smiley smile

Sew-ins do not damage the hair. The only way that it can be damaging is if you try to take it out by yourself (licensed cosmetologist)

My stylist recommended clip ins because my hair is fine and fragile. She said the glue in strips and sewn in strips would be too heavy and could cause breakage. She will be ordering them for me and cutting/dying them if necessary.

Definitely talk to your stylist!! For me, my hair is too soft to do a sew in. The last time I did one I saw tons of breakage, so I will be trying clip ins.

A couple ladies highly recommended Bellami extensions on another post last week. No experience of my own to share but I am going to run these by my hair dresser.

I bought clip ins and am terrified of how they will work since I have never worn extensions, but got the kind my hair dresser said to get. Hoping for the best over here. lol.

I used clip in extensions for my ceremony and they worked great. I will tell you make sure you buy good ones and real hair not synthetic. The day of our ceremony the synthetic hair extensions I purchased would not curl and my sister had leave the salon and get a different brand recommended by the stylist.

I am not doing either for the wedding, since I am going to rock my shorter hair...but I have used clip ins and sew ins before plenty of times. I love love love sew ins! They are so convenient and I personally think they look better. I just love how they feel like your own hair. With clip ins, I always feel like I have to constantly touch them or check the clips to make sure they are in and I just don't feel like they look as natural. Either way, I always have my stylist trim them up and add layers to blend them in with my own hair. Both are great options. If you just want something for the one day, then clip ins are great. I just loved having my sew in because I could rock the long hair for a month and a half straight!

I opted for clip in. Look at Luxy and Bellami. I ended up going with Luxy since i have dark auburn hair and I was totally surprised how much they match!

I'll be doing one of the other but I'll wait to see what my stylist suggests. Also, you can always buy the hair and make your own clip ins if need be.

I got clip ins from a salon near me and they match perfectly. Even another stylist who did my hair trial was like "whoa where did you get these? They look perfect". That being said, the woman who put them in said they don't have to be EXACT in order to blend. I decided on clip ins because I didn't want to wear extensions regularly.
