Clear umbrellas -- Did your photographer provide?

Kristen, on October 7, 2020 at 10:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 24

So after speaking to my photographers since rain is a possibility always in FL. They suggested I purchase clear umbrellas which I would not really need after the day -- not that it would not hurt to keep them. I remember the first photographer I interviewed said she had her own. Anyone that needed umbrellas for their wedding did you purchase or did the photographer provide? I know not much I can do but something I am curious about?

We brought our own. That's not something I would ever expect a photographer to provide. It's an umbrella, I'm sure there will be rainy days after your wedding where you could find a use for it.

I wouldn't expect the photographer to provide the umbrellas, though if they did, that's an added bonus!

I bought a pack of 12 clear umbrellas from Amazon under $100! And if I don't end up using them, I can just return them later. I agree with the comment above, I talked with my photographer and she wasn't going to provide any umbrellas.

Understandable. I am going off what one photographer when I asked about how she handles rain. She mentioned she brings those so that is why I was surprised. Not a problem buying some and I see some affordable ones on Etsy. Thank you.

The first photographer I spoke to had some so I figured it was something all photographers bring ha ha. It's cool I see some cute ones on etsy.

Yeah one I spoke to said she has some but I see some cheaper ones I can get personalized via Etsy. I would only get two. I love my few guests but nah I am not buying 6 ha ha.

I'm not sure why more photographers don't have them, I think it would be a good investment for wedding photographers to have some props (like the umbrellas or maybe a cute sign or something) available! I've seen some really great pictures with umbrellas and rain. Etsy has so many cute things, I definitely believe they would have decent umbrella options! I've already spent more than I care to admit buying wedding related things from Etsy 😂 Hoping it doesn't rain on your wedding day, but in case it does, sounds like you'll get some amazing umbrella pictures!

I kind of agree. I mean we are paying for your services which can be an arm and a leg so yeah I would think that is a basic thing they have but oh well lol. I like this one from etsy...thoughts? Girl after this I am about to drop another 140 on Etsy ha ha. I hope it does not either and we do have a back up option but the outside is beautiful.

That one is cute!! I love the font for the wording. It's also nice that the wording is only on one side - that way, you can take some pictures with the words visible, but you can also turn it to the side so you can hide the words and get some shots of you guys through the umbrella (without the words blocking your faces). Even if it's sunny, you can still do some umbrella pictures! Good find!

This is really cute! I’d recommend getting one without anything on it too though. You’ll want pictures without the words and with it being clear I’m sure you’ll still see the words through it even if it’s turned.

Mine had them, but it had stopped raining by the time we started pictures so I didn’t want to use them 🙄 and now regret it.
Before I reached out in my panic I was looking at Walmart and they had some reasonable prices ones, maybe $15 each.

LOL I just might. If not, I may save I mean it is Florida and I have a friend getting married one day so maybe she will need. I may even donate to the photographers and think here is your tip :p lol.

I think I will get some personalized ones via Etsy. Says Mr & Mrs. so if I do need them. If not, will save for later or something.

LOL I am already spending more than planned so I would not get 4 umbrellas. The goal is to not use them at all ha ha. I am just planning ahead just in case. I am hoping I could just turn to the side and hide the wording if needed.

Since we did our own photography and I was a little worried about the weather I bought one on Amazon which I returned when we didn't use.

That is not a bad idea but I see cheaper on Etsy and I doubt I can return ha ha. It would be cheaper to buy two on Etsy. Amazon is not a bad option if you can return. Smiley smile

I specifically got one on Amazon I could return. They were plain without fancy lettering or anything. I was fine with that because I didn't want the words to get in the way anyway.
