Clear Labels for Wedding Invitation Addresses

TAC, on January 25, 2016 at 8:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 22

What is the best kind of clear label to purchase for printing addresses on Wedding Invitations -- I've only seen Avery mentioned thus far...

Also, forgive my ignorance - but would you just use Mail Merge? I'd love to use an exciting font, but not sure how to go about it! It's been years since I've had to do Mail Merge Smiley smile

Avery is great. Also don't go too creative with the fonts. They can get hard to read, that's my only FYI!

I do love the Avery brand. Using their website. I'm doing them for my STD return address!

Avery is great. Or office max brand. It usually says on the outside of the package the template # to google. Super easy to down load and set up the template. Only issue for me was its in word and I couldn't add a page with the formatting. So i just had to save 3 separate word docs with my addresses. But not a big hassle!

Also I second using an easy to read font. Cursive can get hard.

I used Avery labels for my STDs, I wasn't crazy about how it looked so i printed directly on my invitation envelopes. It was much easier than I expected and looked much better than my labels Smiley smile

We are using the clear Avery labels for our invitations. They looked nice enough for us and were super easy, but my only complaint is that it can be hard to get them on straight and you definitely can't fix them after they stick.

I'd use Avery 15660. Got them on Amazon for very cheap. Use youtube for a tutorial on how to do a mail merge.

Avery is awesome! I just did mine and got them on Amazon very cheap! They have a template to use which includes a mail merger. Just take the time to review them because sometimes the formatting needs adjustment. You can also change the font and formatting on them all at once

I use clear labels often for work, either the Avery ones or the staples version. I always use Microsoft mail merge, just a preference instead of the Avery website. I usually create the label in Publisher, which gives we a lot of freedom to edit, change font sizes, add designs, etc and has most standard label sizes pre-loaded. I use excel for the list of names/addresses and use mail merge to add it to the labels. Be careful when you put the labels on your envelopes, if you don't go slow you can get air bubbles that are visible.

I didn't do labels, instead I just did a mail merge so the address printed directly on the envelope. I also had the return address printed directly on the envelope. This way I wouldn't be worried if the labels were placed directly centered or if they were straight. I'm really anal about that sort of thing. So Printing directly on the envelope was the best solution for me

Can anyone recommend the name of a good font for these labels? I want them to look nice, but still be legible at the post office.

@MzRosa I can't remember the exact name but it started with a T and was cursive/calligraphy looking. The only think I didn't love was if you had an apt number the number looked really small next to the letters so I had to adjust those a bit

I just finished labelling my invites this weekend and used the avery laser clear labels from Staples. I downloaded the template off the Avery site and came out perfectly with no smudges. But I found that you have to be careful because lint sometimes shows up underneath and for an ocd bride like me it drove me crazy. We had grey envelopes so it didn't appear as much but I had to also add clear labels onto to my invites which are white so the lint was noticeable underneath Smiley sad But I've been telling myself it's a minute detail that guests won't notice or care in the long run lol...good luck!
