Cleaning my wedding gown BEFORE the wedding??

KandMsayIDO, on July 7, 2017 at 12:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2

Hi All,

You may remember my gown fiasco from this past weekend... so with that, the gown that I have now is kinda dirty on the inside as it was a sample gown. I was thinking of having it cleaned, but I keep hearing stories about dresses being damaged during that process. Does anyone have any experience with this? Would it better to just spot clean it instead? What are your thoughts?

If I remember your last post correctly, you have a fitting appointment coming up, correct? If it were me, I'd ask my seamstress if she can clean it, or if she knows anyone reputably who can clean it properly.

I still can't believe your bridal shop pulled that shit on you . . .

I didn't see your last post, but I'm sorry something happened with your dress! I have a vintage gown from my FMIL, and I found a very reputable seamstress and then asked her who she works with/would recommend to have it cleaned by.

It's working out great for me because they know each other and work together, they said they'll help me figure out the time line for when I need to have what done as far as cleaning & altering goes for my wedding in 10 months.
