Clean-up

Camilla, on October 17, 2019 at 12:44 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8

Our venue requires us to leave the place like we found it, tables and chairs put away and every thing wiped down and trash taken out.

They have a checklist, I want my deposit back. I am hoping to hire 2-3 people to help with day of stuff including clean up. I really dont want to have to stick around til its clean.

Any suggestions?

I was looking for advice on where to find some event help on here, and someone suggested either the Thumbtack website or asking any college students you know if any of their friends want to make some extra money. You could also check your local Craigslist for a housekeeping service. Some may have experience with event cleanup, and I'd bet most would be willing to do it without any experience. There are also specific event breakdown/cleanup companies out there. You could search for one in your area.

I called a house keeping company. and I have a flier made for work, we have a bunch of college kids working here. Just really nervous about it.

You can hire someone off the Task Rabbit website
I, personally, would stick with insured businesses that have a professional reputation to protect. Does your caterer not do cleanup? My DOC oversees the cleanup as well. I think most housekeeping companies also do event cleanup.

I agree with PP about checking out Thumbtack. You could also consider hiring a DOC who would be helpful the entire day, not just with cleanup.

There are specific event takedown companies out there- for relatively inexpensive prices! It would definitely be worth looking into one. I've never heard of getting a deposit back for cleaning the place- is it a damage deposit you paid? Interesting!

Our reception venue rental charge is for 3 days (Friday-Sunday) so we don't have to rush to set up and clean up can be relaxed on Sunday.

You've gotten some good suggestions. I just wanted to say, I am so glad you are planning to hire people for this instead of asking your friends and family to be the clean-up crew.
