Civil wedding in Italy - number of witnesses allowed to sign?

Maja, on January 6, 2025 at 11:14 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 1

Hey everyone, we are planning our civil wedding in Tuscany and would love to have 2 witnesses each (4 in total). I have read that officially, only 2 can sign (for the civil ceremony), that, however, some officiants make exceptions, so that all 4 can sign the document. Does anyone have experience or first hand information on whether this is true? Thank you! Smiley love

Hello! Here in Italy only 2 witnesses are legally involved in signing.... The rest of the witnesses are only symbolic and their presence has a purely emotional value for the spouses. Anyway if you need a Photographer, check out my professional page here on Wedding Wire. Cheers! Smiley smile
