Cigar Roller Time

Katherine, on November 22, 2016 at 9:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Hello Everyone,

My fiancé and I are planning to hire a cigar roller for our wedding. Our dilemma is thAt we are not sure at what time we should have him come since he will only be there for 2 hours. I'm not a smoker so I'm not sure as to which is the best time to smoke. Our cocktail hour will take place outdoor and the remainder of the wedding festivities will take place in the 2nd floor of the catering hall. Any suggestions in terms of what times during a wedding a cigar roller would be best used would be highly appreciated.

I usually see them during cocktail hour. Just curious....why did you choose to do this?

We are planning to do it after dinner, since that is what we've seen at other weddings. Sometimes it can take up to 45 minutes to smoke a cigar, so we wouldn't want people to have to rush during cocktail hour

Most of our venues won't allow smoking in any place, in or out.

If you're not a smoker, why do you want this?

My fiancé is a smoker, and he meets up with a group of friends about once a month to smoke cigars. He really wanted a cigar roller and I didn't see any opposition to that...

I think it's a cute idea. My venue allows smoking on the terrace, and my FH's cuban side of the family loves cigars.. even his 80-year-old grandma smokes them lol, and so do his friends.

ETA: I would say after dinner. A lot of people like to smoke after meals.

Maybe your FH would have a suggestion of the best timing then. Does he prefer his cigar before or after a meal?

    Hey FutureMrsPereda,

I haven't booked anyone yet but these are two vendors I'm currently researching on. They both responded pretty fast to my email.

That's a cool idea, they did this on an episode of four weddings

I honestly don't like this idea for a few reasons (mainly out of consideration for people with allergies/asthma who can be triggered by even the smell of smoke), but if you MUST do this, I suggest after dinner.

I would think after dinner would be the best time. I think it's a cool idea, especially since your FH smokes them.

We are having it in the cocktail hour, since it is outdoors and it will also be some entertainment for that hour. After that he will give us some other cigars and we will have a cigar bar set up next to the bar, so anyone can grab whenever they want.
