Cigar Bar

Kimberly, on July 21, 2018 at 1:50 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Has anyone done or is planning on doing a cigar bar at their wedding reception? My FH really wants to do it but I have no idea where to start so any suggestions on where to get stuff and so on will be great!
Thanks in advance!

The smell of cigars turns my stomach and many people can’t be around smoke , so an outdoor area away from the main venue would be best. Somewhere where people won’t have to be near it if they don’t want to.

    All this.
Idc what people do with their own lives / events, but if my lungs are involved, then I'd like it to be miles away from me

If you decide to have a cigar bar it's best to have it in an area that if guests don't want to be near the smoke they won't have to be. Many can't stand the smell of smoke or for health reasons can't be around it. Some of your guests may have COPD or Asthma which are greatly aggravated by smoke. For some with these conditions it can make them so sick they have to be hospitalized. Make sure that the area for smoking the cigars is outside in an area away from everyone else. Just a thought maybe you could compromise with your FH by having fake cigars on his grooms cake table or a "cigar" bar with cigars that are made out of chocolate. It's possible to get them to look as if they are real and from a distance you won't be able to tell the difference. It would allow your FH to have the look of the cigars he wants without the smoke. It would give the look of cigars without the smell of smoke that may be harmful, sickening or offensive to some. There's many different flavors and brands. You can find them on Amazon, online candy stores, grocery stores, party stores etc... and they do taste good.

Thanks. The cigars are going to be in the smoking section of the venue and there are alot of smoke in my FHs family. We personally are not though. I get people having issues with smoke but I also know alot of people that like to have a cigar once or twice a year.

That's great your venue has a smoking section that you will get to use. I've heard of a website called cigars.com and they might have what you need.

Maybe a wedding is not the best place for that indulgence though. I'd never let anyone who'd been smoking a cigar around me.

Make him plan it if it is his idea. Smoking is gross though, everyone will stink.

We had a Cigar Bar. I looked into local companies to see the cost of having a roller there or not. In the end we set up a small round table next to the door that lead out to the patio with a cigar bar that included a variety of cigars, a couple cigar cutters, and something they could light them with. My husband order them all off of either cigarbid.com or cigars.com
