Church Exit ?

Skye, on June 28, 2016 at 9:54 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

I just got word we can't have any sparklers . I thought about just regular confetti or rose petals , which is approved . I'm looking for inexpensive ideas I can get together in a few days. What are you using for the ceremony church exit ?

We are not planning on doing any special exit. Mostly everyone is leaving and then us/family/BP will stay for formal pictures. I've been do a wedding that did rose petals but I heard that that gets pretty expensive. The bridesmaids walked around with big baskets of petals and people grabbed some to throw when the bride and groom left.

Bubbles are cheap, but for my church wedding I'm not having anything. But mine is in winter so why keep people outside longer than they have to =) If I was doing summer, I'd do bubbles.

I agree that either bubbles or rose petals might be your best options at this point in time. I've never been a huge fan of rice, myself; I wouldn't want to be picking it out of my hair or dress all night!

Be careful with bubbles as they can stain clothes and make the floors slippery.

We are doing bubbles. Other earth friendly options are bird seed, tissue paper confetti, dried lavender, petals, ribbon wands... please don't do balloons, sky lanterns, or rice. They are bad for the environment and the animals. It's very selfish for someone to choose a possible photo opp over thinking about the consequences.

Thanks ladies I will look into these options . The exit is more for photo opp than anything.

Tina - Smiley smile I'm not a big fan of posed/forced exits, I'd rather capture the moments candidly! Just my personal opinion, but the photos do turn out lovely either way

But really, isn't that the best photo--capturing the joy on people's faces? Smiley smile

I just remembered that my son and dil had those little kissing bells.

We just wanted to do a shot with us running out the church with something thrown . I'm sure the photographer will capture the guest expressions .
