Chubby brides & updos!

What about a side swept? Im not a fan of my hair up but want to show my back as well so thats what im doing

I don't photograph well at all when my hair is up - in shape or with extra weight. I'm wearing my hair down with a couple braids going across the back. You could always do a loose, low updo with pieces framing your face or like PP said, a side swept style would be gorgeous with a pretty hairpiece.

I consider myself a chubby person as well. This is what I told myself: "I'm getting married to the most amazing person. He loves me for who I am, extra weight and all, and that's what matters. I have a gorgeous back to my dress and I'm going to show it off." Don't hide behind your hair if you'd be happier with it up.

That being said, I've found that asymmetrical, looser updos are more flattering for round faces. Nothing slicked back and tight. I don't have photos back yet, but I did something similar to these.

Don't hide your beautiful face or your dress. I'm sure you will be the most stunning bride find a style you love and rock it on your big day!!

I wore my hair down with it braided at the top, but kept it over my shoulders to cover my boobs. They grew so quick with this pregnancy that they barely fit into my dress so I was trying to hide them 😂 also we had a last minute screw over with my hmua, so I ended up having to have someone else do my hair 😩

How about a loose updo to show off the back of the dress, but leave two loose pieces on either side of your face to frame it?

I originally thought I wanted my hair down but when I did my hair trial and took pictures I thought it actually made my face look chubbier. So I ended up wearing my hair in an updo.

I’m with you - I most likely want a down hairstyle but my dress has a gorgeous back! I might do a sideswept thing with curls. This would also probably make it easier to secure my veil.

Also - I know everyone is being encouraging, but don’t feel pressured into doing an updo if you don’t want one. This happened to me at prom years ago and the whole time i felt self conscious and ugly, and I hated my photos because I had such a round face (partially an effect of prednisone). Do what makes you feel beautiful!

I have a round face as well and wore mine down because I've always loved my hair down more than up, but I don't consider myself chubby, so I'm not sure if my photos help. This is how my hair was though, just in case the photos do help at all.

I have a round face as well, I am torn, I love my hair down but I feel the opposite of you, my hair down makes my face sometimes look larger. I am thinking side swept or 1/2 up 1/2 down. My suggestion would be when you do a hair trial have them start with it down and see if you like it, if not ask her to put it up or 1/2 up 1/2 down.

I'm so with you. I took my engagement pictures and had my hair down and with a braid on the side and I did not like it at all. I feel like it made me look rounder. So I been trying styles up loosely with a side part an loose pieces around my face to frame it and it really make a difference. Having a center part will make you look rounder. Hope it helps
