I want to do it bc I am not a dancer and I want to do something fun that makes me feel confident. I’ve only ever danced with my fiancé once in the kitchen and I don’t want to feel so awkward in front of everyone I know. I don’t want to just do the basic sway for three minutes and be so bored and self conscious.

It's a cute idea, but I think the first dance should be how you two are naturally. Having a choreographed dance, someone may mess up and forget the next move.

It’s interesting because my SO and I are both dancers but we might be the only dancers on this forum that are interested in doing choreographed dance, especially since all our friends and family are expecting it Smiley xd

However, it doesnt have to be for our first dance (might be a traditional folk dance) and if we do it for a first dance, it’s extremely important that the first part of the dance is not choreographed and more of us being with each other

I have to be 100% honest

i have been watching videos and as a future bride I definitely think they are sweet

remembering back to pre-engagement brain I never was a fan

im really not personally a fan at all actually but I certainly believe that the couple should do whatever they want because it’s their wedding and weddings are EXPENSIVE

    all that aside

i just really think I want to find a political way to “ban” choreography because I’m nearly positive when SO finally accepts refusal is permanent he will resort to a noncouple choreography and I will hate that more than me having to do it lol

im realistically planning it but he wanted wedding and I went along with it because I seriously think marriage is NOT the brides day or all about her but about the marriage and as he is 1/2 of it if he wants a wedding we are going to have one... but I might have to call veto powers on some things

and even if I only get 1 I think I know where it’s going

    btw

still watching videos and the dances really are sweet even when very poorly executed and some crowds genuinely seem to enjoy it a lot

    I think that’s completely smart

what actually led into this is I really did not want to dance (haven’t in 13 years and don’t want to at 14 either) but he really wanted it so I agreed complaining it should be 45-60 seconds MAX including stroll out then announce join us so I can stop because we have not danced together and don’t dance individually (even around the house except toddler entertainment) so I don’t get what he thinks we will do other then be weird

so he decided he wanted to do a choreography

i csn see what youre doing and brushing up or learning and practicing a bit but I cannot see liking a second of it and definitely cannot see a choreography

I honestly don’t think I thought they were cute before but I’ve honestly spent a whole day ahhing the sweet moment

i still dont think that everyone enjoys watching (though obviously some do)

and I definitely don’t honestly think any “look good” even the waltz’s, ballroom numbers, swing, or any of it

they clearly just learned the best the could for event

which May honestly be why it’s so sweet and cute because as a brides I get the time, money, and commitment especially as you can clearly tell every time one “really wanted it” and their SO really did their best to make that dream beautiful even though they really would not have picked it

(sure I’m getting slack for that one from everyone who is positive their SO & them wanted it the exact same amount lol)

but man it is adorable when a dad or mom does it too

or when it’s the entire (huge) wedding party

they have close friends if thry can coordinate the group lessons especially considering how many ww posts are about “wedding party failing me”

    Well
i vote lt is always awesome to be unique lol

i love the opposing point of view because it can teach each of us respect and empathy

it may even change ones mind

but even if not it’s always good to consider every angle and viewpoint that one possibly can before deciding on something (especially important stuff)
