"Choose a seat, not a side" alternative

JMedd, on April 30, 2013 at 12:21 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

I'm having a very small wedding party that consists of my MOH and the groom's Best Maid. I'm going to make a sign that directs guests to sit on either side, but I'd like to put my own twist on the wording. Which of the two below do you like best?

Today our families are bonded together,

we ask that you to please sit wherever.

Today, as two families are joined together,

we ask that you please have a seat wherever.

    I like #2 better.

    We're using this:

"Friends of the Bride, Friends of the Groom

Please sit together, there is plenty of room!"

I don't care for the "wherever"

    I like Kristn's wording above.

I like that KristnB's!! I had planned on using

As two families are becoming one

We ask that you choose a seat not a side

But I may change and use KristnB's

I like #1 and KristnB's. Kelly, I've seen that one on pinterest pics of signs and such, and I've always thought the choose a seat not a side one is almost sublty hostile.

I originally thought of using the same thing @Kelly, but I saw ours on Pinterest (gotta love it) and thought it seemed less used, so we're going with it Smiley smile

Thanks for all your input! I was leaning more towards #2 as well. I really want my own signature touch on the wording so I will go this route.
