Well, this is the way that it goes....

I have to break into pieces....

_____ and _____ share a love of chocolate. Today they are going to feed each other small bites of chocolate which are being used as a representation of what they expect out of their marriage.

Chocolate, in any of its forms, provides our bodies with nourishment. Chocolate not only feeds our bodies, it also can nourish our souls. For _____ and _____, chocolate is a special treat that they indulge in every once in a while to bring them joy or nourish their souls. Today, _____ and _____ recognize that their marriage is also a sweet treat that will bring joy to their lives and nourish their souls.

What do you think of this Sheila??

Both Jeff and Angel share a love of chocolate. Today they are going to feed each other small bites of chocolate which are being used as a representation of what they expect out of their marriage.

Chocolate, in any of its forms, provides our bodies with nourishment. Chocolate not only feeds our bodies, it can also nourish our souls. Chocolate is a special treat that Angel and Jeff indulge in every once in a while to bring them joy or nourish their souls. Today, Jeff and Angel recognize that their marriage is also a sweet treat that will bring joy to their lives and nourish their souls.

Throughout your lives together you will have times that are like eating your favorite chocolates; sweet and filled with a favorite flavor: peanut butter, cream, or caramel. At other times you will experience the dark and bitter-sweet side of life, like the darkest of chocolates.

Jeff please take a piece of the dark chocolate and feed it to Angel. Now Angel, please feed Jeff a bite of the Dark chocolate.

Right now you both are experiencing the more bitter side of chocolate together. Just as in life you will have to experience those more bitter times together.

Jeff now take a piece of the milk chocolate and feed it to Angel.

And Angel, please feed Jeff a bite of the Milk Chocolate.

At this moment you are both experiencing the sweet side of chocolate together. These bites of chocolate represent the wonderful sweet life that you two will have together.

Jeff please take a piece of the white chocolate and feed it to Angel. And, Angel please feed Jeff a bite of the white chocolate. Right now you are experiencing the taste of white chocolate. This is representing that they must always keep god as the foundation of their unity, of their marriage.

Angel and Jeff acknowledge this fact and proceed forward into their marriage prepared to deal with it all together. They will keep god as a foundation of their unity and to embrace the bitter with the sweet.

White chocolate isn't "fake" chocolate its just chocolate with the cocoa removed. Tts basically the fat of the cocoa plant. This is a very unique take on the unity ceremony and if it works for you I think it should be great.

I think its a great idea- mainly because you both have a love for chocolate. I love the fact that white chocolate represents God. As Victoria said, white chocolate is chocolate with the cocoa removed, which to me, seems more pure- pure like God! Love it!!!

I like the idea and that it represents you and your fh who is to say what is right and what is wrong? I think its the same as Christian stores selling crosses and bibles and Jesus candy made in white chocolate or any candy for that matter. It doesn't make the msg any less meaningful. Just because something is weird to you is right for someone else. It's just like a very joking couple that everyone knows cracks jokes and just has a loving sense of humor cracking jokes during their wedding vows. It doesn't make the vows any less meaningful its just how the couple wants to represent their life together and make their wedding unique to them.

It's the most unique idea I've seen for a unity ceremony! I say go for it. People may think it's a bit strange but it makes sense to you both and the ceremony is all about you two. So have fun with it Smiley smile

Why don't you make hot chocolate instead, then serve hot chocolate at the reception as your signature drink. Instead of sand you both mix cocoa and sugar. Smiley smile

I'm sorry, but it would be difficult for me not to laugh at a chocolate eating unity ceremony. It sounds far-reaching trying to incorporate chocolate into a wedding ceremony. You can just feed each other chocolate cake at the reception?

It seems like your life is based more on Chocolate than God.I see chocolate being said more than GOD was being said.I must agree with most the ladies who say this is just diffrent.Hope it works out for you.

I like Sheila's idea. I thought that each of you pouring in the chocolate chips would be cute, but then who would pour the bitter, and who would pour the sweet? lol And I doubt anyone will be think you were saying god is fake by using white chocolate. That's just completely silly to me that someone would suggest that.

All in all, I think it's a nice idea. I'm not even doing a unity because I'm also over candles and sand *yawn*

Yes, we are both joksters (expecially FH) and we also go to church together. We are getting married in a church and I would have it no other way. Chocolate is just something that we both like. I hate chocolate cake. We were originally going to go with the unity cross but we couldnt afford that and dont have the time to make it. So, then we ran into the chocolate ceremony idea (someone on here gave me the idea..) And, I still wanted a way to incorporate god into our ceremony (because he is the foundation for every relationship. And, its also important to me to make my wedding unique (like us) and more personal. Thank you everyone for your opinions.. Oh, and I love Sheila's idea but I cant have melted chocolate, (my wedding is inside yes but no where to plug it in..)

I think the idea is unique, you will probably get confused people, and people giggling, but what ever, you won't even notice (I didn't notice ANYTHING other than my man up there!)

If you love the idea go for it! Like FMS said you won't even notice your guests during the ceremony, just your man. I'm sure when the idea of the sand ceremony was first suggested many people thought it didn't seem to fit with a wedding and possibly that it was offensive to represent God with sand, but now it is a very popular unity ceremony. I think your idea is sweet (no pun intended) and meaningful based on the layout you have.

@ Beautiful in the unity sand ceremony sand is mentioned much more than God is also but I would never suggest that it means someones life is based more on sand than on God. There is nothing wrong with trying to incorporate God into EVERYTHING we do. Angel, I like your idea and its seems to say alot about who you and your FH are, and giggles or no giggles I think your guests will understand it too.

I really love this idea- so unique and not used in every other ceremony. Love that is is incorporating the two of you. Definitely work on the wording- it has already improved from reading the different posts. Simple is always better. And laughing in a ceremony is a good thing- even if people would be confused. Who wants a ceremony only full of crying? Smiley winking

And even if people do laugh, I don't think it will be out of disbelief that you are doing a chocolate unity. It will be because they think it's cute and unique, and totally YOU guys. I want people to luahg during my ceremony. To me, ceremonies are always so awkward, serious, and boring.
