Chocolate fondue fountain ?

A.L.S., on March 27, 2017 at 12:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

My FH asked if we would have one because he loves them. Has anyone had one and if so did you like it ? Was it messy ?

I have seen kids put their fingers into the chocolate and therefore I avoid the fountain.

Tell him to stop at a Golden Corral the week before to satisfy his need for dipping things into chocolate. I didn't know that was even a thing for weddings honestly. I have seen it at kids' bday parties but never weddings.

I had one at prom. It became a huge mess and ruined a couple of dresses. After that experience I have been leery of chocolate fountains.

If you're having kids there, I would highly recommend against it.

All I can think of is a little kid running up with chocolatey fingers to give a hug, and bang, chocolate dress.

Also, drunk me and a chocolate fountain wouldn't go well together.

That's what FH wants as well, I plan to ask venues about their experiences with them when we visit. Yes they're messy and sticky, but if that's the one thing he wants in the day it might be worth it.

I don't like my food flowing through the air.

Chocolate fountains are delicious, but they're messy. My friend had one at her wedding and got some on her dress. She didn't care at all, but I know I would.

My cousin's hat one, it was fine because their weren't any kids. However, it definitely got everywhere/all around the fountain so it's something to be mindful of

Thanks everyone we've decided against it and will be doing a chocolate and fruit bar instead

Not a fondue fountain, but my FH asked for a rootbeer float bar and as strange as it sounded to me I had to remember that this is his wedding too so...

My niece had one at her wedding, and it was a huge it. We made sure it was far enough back on the table that kids couldn't put their hands in it, and the parents had to help, so there were no "sticky dress" issues.
