Children’s meal options

Michelle, on May 12, 2023 at 6:49 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
What did/will you serve to the 12 and under crowd? Are you going for basic chicken fingers, providing a second choice for them or serving whatever adults eat? How detailed are you going with that on the reply card if guests need to pick a plated choice before the wedding day? If you are serving a buffet, will there be a separate buffet area for the kids’ options?

Our venue had a variety of meals that kids could choose from, since they have a restaurant on site. Anything from mac and cheese, to chicken tenders, or a mini steak, or a burger, etc. The kids didn't need to choose their meal ahead of time until they got to the reception.

Choosing the meal on the reply cards wasn't a thing at our wedding (or anyone else's -- I've actually never attended a wedding where guests had to choose a meal beforehand). Everyone just ordered on the spot. Our caterer could provide chicken nuggets or plain pasta for kids. We had one toddler there, but she got restless and her family decided to leave before the meal was served. We also had an 8- and 10-year-old but I think they ate the adult meal.

We had a plated meal that guests chose ahead of time so with some input from the family of all the kids we chose that the kids got chicken fingers and fries!

Our kids meal was chicken tender and fries, but we also gave all the kids the option of having the adult meal.

We are having a plated dinner. We're going for the kids meal our venue offers: chicken tenders, fries and fruit for the little ones, in our case only 3 attending and they are all toddlers (we think finger food is the best choice for them in this case.)

We're doing our RSVP online, so in there we have the option to reply if they are attending with children and how many.
