Child Care

Karen, on August 4, 2019 at 9:18 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
I really don't want to have a child free wedding (alot of my family have small children) but I definitely dont want to have children running around or crying during our ceremony. I've considered child care, has anyone done this? Can anyone recommend an affordable option? The ones I've seen are super expensive.

When I was in college, I worked for a babysitting service that would occasionally provide a sitter (or sitters if needed) for weddings or other events. I’d look into babysitting services in your area and see what options they have. Babysitters can be tough because you don’t want to trust just anyone with kids!

I did that. I hired the church nanny to look after them. Which was perfect since everyone who had kids were the ones who went to church and all knew the nanny already so they felt more than comfortable with leaving their kids with her. However if I didn't have her, I guess I would have gone through some kind of agency too.n

We've hired someone for childcare. A friend of our rec'd her nanny (which is great, her kids will be at the wedding), and right now, we're asking for the nanny to be there from right before the ceremony to after dinner. (We're figuring 4:45-8:45.)

We figure this allows the parents to not worry about loud kids during the ceremony, and also lets them eat in peace.

Our venue had a kids room! We hired a professional nanny service who brought crafts & games for kids, and included an insert in our invitations about it. It was 100% optional but a few parents did use it!
