Not at all, Ashley!! Me and my siblings were all part of my cousin's wedding party and we were in between the ages of probably 14 and 8. As long as your daughter is well behaved and knows what her job is, then I think she would be fine and it would be pretty adorable.

I wouldn't make her a bridesmaid just because you don't have even numbers. I personally wouldn't trust any 6 year old to stand still at the altar for 30 minutes, but maybe yours is extremely well behaved. Flower girl is a much more appropriate role for her age.

My sister did a niece as a Jr Bridesmaid but she was about 12 at the time. Would your daughter rather throw flowers or walk down like the big girls and stand?

My 6 year old son is my tiny bridesman, and my step daughter is a 9 year old Jr. Bridesmaid.

I think it makes the whole thing really special for the kids.

    Good Luck!

My 14 year old sister is a bridesmaid. 6 does seem a little young for a bridesmaid. Could you have two flower girls?

You could have her be a flower girl. I had 3 flower girls (ages were 11, 9, and 7). I would worry that a 6 year old would have a hard time standing up there the entire length of the ceremony. The flower girls sat down with their dad (mom was a bridesmaid) during the ceremony.

We are a blended family with 4 teenagers and a 6 year old, so the teens are serving as our bridesmaids/groomsmen and the 6 year old is actually walking mommy down the aisle. It was a great way to incorporate them in the ceremony and they are all excited. The great thing about it being your wedding is that YOU get to make the decisions on those types of things! If you want your 6 year old to be a little bridesmaid, go for it!!

I made my 5 year old daughter my MOH. It's your decision because it's your wedding! Do what makes you happy! Pictures may be hard, but they also may go amazing. You won't know that until the day of. Maybe do some way of practicing beforehand if possible?
