Chicken dishes

Michelle, on January 8, 2021 at 2:26 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
I generally don't eat chicken in banquet settings since I've had many instances where it was undercooked which is not safe at all. Never had overcooked though.

We're weighing out options for plated vs stations. If we did do plated, our ideas for a chicken option would be chicken strips with waffles with topping options in portion cups of butter, strawberry syrup, country gravy, bbq sauce. Or some type of Chinese chicken dish (lemon, sweet and sour, garlic, etc) with fried rice on the side. What would be most appealing as a guest?

I’d personally prefer the former and love how guests can customize it to their tastes with the sauces.

I've never had chicken and waffles so I would probably like the Chinese chicken better or I'd just eat the chicken strips with bbq sauce rather than eating the waffles. For our rehearsal dinner we had ham and francaise chicken since we were having prime rib and turkey for the wedding we wanted different meat choices for the rehearsal.

Personally I'd lean more towards the chinese style chicken. I dont think I've ever attended a wedding with stations so cant really give my opinion on that part as to which would be better.

I like how you can customize the chicken and waffles but then I think the Chinese chicken sounds better to me personally

Chicken and waffles if this is a brunch wedding. Asian inspired if this will be a dinner.

We haven't either but we like the idea to give guests options that are presented slightly fancier than the standard buffet with everything served to them. However these are our ideas based on what the caterer can make that will be crowd pleasers for our guests if we decide to go the plated route instead.

Unless it's a brunch wedding, I would go with the Asian chicken. I just feel like chicken and waffles would feel out of place if the other dishes were more traditional dinner dishes and then the chicken and waffles was the odd one out.

Chicken and waffles sounds super fun, though idk if this is just me, but I seem to always make a mess when I order it - syrup and stuff everywhere.

I'd probably prefer the Chinese chicken dish -- but that's also because I could eat that kind of food every day!

FH would be so happy with chicken and waffles. But it can be messy. I always opt for the veggie option at weddings for the same reason you listed not liking chicken.
