Chicken cutlets

pinguino, on July 16, 2015 at 11:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

Ok, so maybe a little TMI, but admittedly I am not where I would like to be in the boob department. Mainly because I am a big girl with a little rack. I wouldn't mind my almost B cups if it were more proportionate to my size. So that has made me nervous about my dress. I go for my first fitting this weekend, but the top portion is so large on me now that lacing up the corset back does no good, as it is still so big it falls down. I know that is going to be a lot of work for the seamstress and money for me to fix, but I would also like to look better in my dress, so I picked up some "chicken cutlets" (these silicone like things to put in your bra) the other day. Has anyone used these before at all, or for your wedding? How did it go? Did you like them?

I have the exact opposite problem... But my best friend used the silicone inserts to help tweak the fit of the top of her dress which was too big compared to rest after being custom made and refitted several times and they worked wonders. She had no complaints about them and she actually started using them with other outfits she had similar problems with!

Yeah I'm probably going to get the chicken cutlets lol. I used to have DD's but since I lost weight I'm barely a B cup which is such a drastic difference :/

I'm a 36A, but I'm a size 8. My front butt is starting to match my back butt. Have you ever tried those sticky bras? The cloth like ones that go under your boob and then slightly up the side.... Those are the only things I have ever found that give me cleavage. I buy them on Amazon for like $8. Oh and I hear they make cups they can sew in that are like the massively stuffed bras from Victoria's Secret. Oh gosh... What are they called? The bombshell bras!!!!

I bought the chicken cutlets off Amazon for $6 I think. I wore them with a regular push-up bra and they definitely did the trick. I bought the bombshell bra @Alexis mentioned originally, but I felt like I was going to take somebody's eye out.

ETA: I'm a 34A and I don't feel they are proportionate to my body. The cutlets helped.

I have seen a few of these "chicken cutlet" threads before. I have never personally owned any, but I know there are quite a few brides that have. The morning crowd might have more advice. BUMP. Lol

I actually posted on this exact issue earlier. Did you wear a bra with the cutlets, or just put them in the cups of the dress?

@Stephanie - I haven't tries them on with the dress yet. I just picked them up at Wal-Mart yesterday and my dress is being stored at my parent's house because we live in a shoe box. Im just like afraid of one of them flying out when I toss my bouquet or something.

@Alexis - I'm a size 20 and a 38 barely B. I was a size 16 and 36 barely B in college. It is just reallyhard to have ddresses fit when you are such a pear shape like I am. Dresses either fit my top and I can't get them over my hips, or it fits on the bottom and is flapping in the wind up top. They think all big girls have C cups or bigger, and generally that is true, but it is annoying to me. I wish when I gained weight that some of it would have gone to the girls instead of my gut lol.

Opposite problem here too. Little girl with huge boobs. I bought a bra the says it "reduces you 2 sizes"... It might but it's like a torture chamber.

I have the silicone cutlets for my swim tops, but that's not what I got for my dress. My seamstress sewed in pad inserts & holy wow, for once in my life I feel so secure up top! I'm a 34 A or B depending on the bra, but honestly they're so little I could wear a bra backwards an no one would notice hahaha. Oh, I'm also not wearing a bra under my dress, just using the padding she out in there.

@Robin - I can totally believe that a reduction bra is a torture chamber. Last weekend I went shopping for shareware and I hated it. I'm a jeans and tee shirt type of girl, so I'm not used to all these beauty products that seem to be basic items for dressing up like this. Do you wear it regularly or did you get it for the wedding? I know a girl who is average sized, but had huge boobs, so big that they gave her back problems by her early 20s. She recently got a reduction, that most insurance will cover, and she looks snd feels so much better.

@JCC - My MOH is well endowed, and we always used to joke about her getting a reduction and donating her leftovers to me, haha.

I've worn chicken cutlets a few times and have had trouble with them falling out. Which can be awkward. I'm sure it was due to user error. But when they work, they really work! It never really occurred to me use them with my dress until alterations had already started though.

Pini, I found them helpful (if you can note my "cleaverage" (as one little girl I knew called it) in my avatar.

Inexpensive and comfortable too Smiley smile

I didn't use these, but i wish i had. i'd even thought about it too because i didn't wear a bra with my dress, i had one built in (which was great, btw. the inner strap around held my strapless dress up like a freaking champ. didn't do the strapless shimmy up at all.) but i don't feel like my boobs really filled the cups so my dress kind of buckled under my boobs. i feel like it wouldn't have done that as bad if i'd had some chicken cutlets or something to help fill it up more... oh well though.

i probably would have gone with one of those sticky backless bras though 'cuz i feel like chicken cutlets wouldn't have stayed put or something.

Has anyone had experience with the sticky backless bras? do they just start to slide when you start to dance/sweat?

I have no advice, because all I can picture is some poor girl tossing her bouquet and a fake boob flying out of her dress and hitting someone in the face. Dying...

What about getting them inserted in your dress? I'm similar (smaller boobs, bigger figure), and that's what we did. Worked out well!

A&J- the chicken cutlets themselves? how did you get them inserted in? Can you sew silicone? Or, did you put them in some sort of fabric first?
