Chiavari chairs worth it?

Maria, on May 30, 2019 at 12:46 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13
Hi all! I went to a wedding this past weekend and saw their chiavari chairs and really liked them. Our venue is the Sheraton in Cuyahoga Falls and they provide goldish brown chairs that we were gonna use but not cover to cut down on costs. However, our colors are silver and plum and I feel like the chairs provided won’t match well if they’re not covered. My question is: are chiavari chairs worth it? Do you think people will even notice if the chairs are gold or not covered? I got a quote for the chairs and just don’t know if I can justify spending $1,000 to rent chairs for one night.

I couldn't tell you what chairs looked like at any of the weddings I've attended honestly.
As for the chiavari ones...I couldn't really say. We just used the banquet chairs at the hotel with no covers and they were fine.

Most people won't be able to tell once everyone is seated.

If you are really concerned I would go with covers, they will be less than renting all new chairs. If your venue charges a lot for covers you could try renting the covers somewhere else or buying on wish.com and selling after.

If you really want chivari chairs ask your venue if they have a preferred vendor that works with them. It could be cheaper because they work together often.

I wouldn't waste your money. Like Chandra said, no one remembers what your chairs look like. I don't even remember the chairs at my own wedding! We did have Chiavari chairs because they came with the venue, but I don't remember the color and I'd bet not one of our guests could tell us what kind of chairs we had.

I agree with PPs! With chairs, it's only important for everyone to have a seat!

No one will remember the chairs at your wedding - what they looked like or whether the colors match your wedding - I would save your money

Side note - I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls - and remember when they were just building the Sheraton lol

Personally, I have never noticed what the chairs looked like at a wedding. I know it might seem like a glaring detail when you walk into an empty room but even in pictures, I don't think anyone would looking at the chairs. If its in budget, great, have fun, and go for it. But if there is something else you would rather spend the money on or even if you'd rather just not spend it at all, I would not think twice about it.

I’ve never noticed chairs in my life except for if they’re comfortable. As long as I can sit comfortably, I don’t care what they look like haha

As long as everyone has a seat and they're comfortable chairs no one will pay attention to the color of them. I'd save your money for something else.

I had the same problem! I wanted chiavari chairs, but it was an extra fee to get them. I decided to use that money for something else because no one will really care about the chairs and it’s not worth spending extra on it

Trust me, no one will notice. I've been to dozens of weddings and I honestly couldn't remember what any of the chairs looked like.

I'll be the odd duck....I notice chairs and they are the first thing I see in reception photos. Sorry guys. We are investing in the chairs but that is us. I never hold it against anyone but I just say to myself I would want the chairs that I like to see and that's my preference for our wedding. If you look at the venue and only see chairs and can afford to upgrade your chairs than do it. You are going to be one of the few people in the future who look at your wedding pictures and if you can only focus on the chairs than they need to change. If they don't bother you then don't bother. I'm just saying that I'm the person who notice's chairs, it's me...I'm the chair person. Smiley xd

Don't do it! I know those look better but no one will really notice these kind of details UNLESS the chairs are just straight up in horrible condition but if not then it is fine to leave it as is. My friend told me she had negotiated chair covers for her wedding down to $1 each but in the end she did not go with them. She had 500 guests. She realized "oh my god why am I going to pay $500 for chair covers...?!" Put your money towards something else. I am sure your wedding will come together beautifully regardless.

Not worth it. That is money you'll never see again and no one will care about. They want food, alcohol, music, and a happy couple.
