We're using prosseco, which is a bubbly white - it's the Italian version of champagne. Super yummy. I brought a bottle back from Verona, so we're opening it for the wedding.

Are those selections what you ladies are serving your guests as well?

Absolutely. I am serving lamarca prosecco instead of regular korbel champagne and we're even debating replacing a white wine option with it as well because it blends the two tastes so nicely.

Are your caterers serving it or is is prepared to grab or are you doing little bottles on the tables?

I'm going to have the venue serve Sparkling Cider for our toasting purposes.

We're using whatever champagne the venue carries. I'm not worried about it being low-quality, because it's the Amway Grand, and they certainly don't come cheap. x-P

We're a DIY wedding, so I'll be buying bottles of prosecco for my guests and have friends help fill everyone's glass.

I LOVE champagne. LOVE IT. That being said, most of your guests will not notice whether you serve $100/bottle or $8/bottles of champagne (IMHO). I agree with everyone above, prosecco is always a nice option. If you want to splurge on a bottle for just you and FI at the wedding, some good options are:

    -Veuve Clicquot (brut...yellow label/yellow box)

    -Moet & Chandon (brut Imperial)

    -Martini Asti (sweeter)

We probably won't do champagne. In that case, we will toast with whatever drinks people already have.

FH and I don't care for champagne

Don't do expensive champagne or prosecco or sparkling pink Moscato for the toast; if you love it, and you have guests who do, serve it at the bar but use something more cost efficient for the toast; most people will have a sip. A regular size bottle will give you about 8-10 toast sized portions.

-Verdi (sweet, sparkling, something; choice of many banquet halls)

    -Segura Vindas (sparkling wine)

    -Frexinet (sparkling wine)

    -Rondo (sparkling wine)

-Innocent Bystander (sparkling pink Moscato; my fave)

I have found Jaume Serra Cristalino to be pretty tasty and around $8 a bottle. MUCH better than the $4 Cooks I resorted to in the college days Smiley winking. We are DIYing the booze so we'll probably use Jaume.

Our venue gives us a choice: Asti Spumante (a sweet sparkling white wine) or Brut Champagne (dry, not sweet).

I enjoy the cheap $5 champagne so I don't care what the venue uses! Lol I guess I'm not too sophisticated of a drinker
