Checkered dance floor on multicolored carpeting?

My fiance and I are getting married in 2026 at a hotel that has hideous multicolored carpeting. I have always dreamed of having a black and white checkered dance floor but now I am worried it will look weird up against the carpet. Is this crazy?? Does it matter or does the carpet need to be a neutral to pull off a checkered dance floor?

People will not really care about the color of the carpet. one option is to distract people's eyes to prettier objects. but you might try some lighting effects such as colored lights or strobe lights. if photos are an issue, the photographer can edit out some undesirable items from the pictures.
