Have you checked Groupon? Sometimes they have good deals on invites. Or shutterfly.

Have you checked Walmart, or Michaels/Hobby Lobby/Joanns clearance sections?

This site has a free wedding suite (save the dates, invites, place cards etc. all you have to do is find somewhere to print):

Honestly, I'm buying a blank invite set that comes with envelopes and RSVP cards from Michael's and printing them myself.

Vistaprint - they are routinely 40-50% off as well so wait for sales.

I’m going to buy an editable invite off Etsy and print my own at home. Not sure if it’s cheaper than the other ideas listed above but it’s definitely about as inexpensive as you can get.

Shutterfly also has sales from time to time. We used a different vendor for our invites but i ordered my save the dates from Shutterfly—very happy with how they turned out and how quickly they arrived

Hobby Lobby has had their wedding stuff 50% off. I got mine there and will print at home. It was 9.99 for 25 invites and 25 RSVP. The nice is they are blank so they could be used for other things too - programs, details etc. They also come with matching envelopes.

I downloaded a template from greetingcardisland and printed them at office depot. I got a 100 invitations and 100 RSVP cards for 30 dollars. The postage is going to cost a lot more than that but there's no way to go cheaper on that.
