Just Said Yes May 2019

Cheaper veils??

Lauren , on May 10, 2018 at 10:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
I said yes to the dress yesterday! And also just came to the realization that purchasing a veil from a bridal shop is hundreds of dollars. Has anyone ordered from Etsy, JJs House, CocoMelody or somewhere similar with prices under $100? I’ve been reading mixed reviews

I made one! It’s not that hard! It depends if you want something embellished. If that is the case, I’d try another vendor. I have heard Bianca veils is good.

I did a variety for wedding #1. Used my mom's veil, which is very short with a pretty design, but bought a floor length and plainer one from Davids Bridal, too. I then bought a tiara from Wishing Well bridal in RI and beads from Michaels. I glued the beads to the tiara and sewed the veils to it. My dress for my first wedding was very boring and it did not have most of the details shown online (bought it from a knockoff site for $184) so I wanted the veil to really stand out. When all was said and done, I spent about $75 on it because the tiara was a splurge. Wore the entire veil combo for the wedding and removed the long one for the reception. 2nd time around, I bought the veil from davidsbridal.com on sale for $25. It's shorter but it's got 3 layers and it's fancy enough to work well. I'm sure whatever you do will look fabulous! Wouldn't trust JJs House or its competitors for the dress itself, but the gloves I ordered from there (elbow length) were gorgeous and they fit so well. You would probably have decent luck ordering a veil from there -- but some places like Amazon could have equally competitive prices. Or, have the veil be your "something borrowed." Does your mom/FMIL/aunt/cousin still have hers?

I’ve seen Veils at Michaels & Hobby Lobby. Not sure if you want to go THAT cheap but those are always an option.

I got my veil from Wish for $20. I am now DIYing with hand-placed rhinestones, but it was beautiful without the crystals as well.
