Cheap vendors

I'm on a really low budget and would like to know what vendors are cheap.

If you cut down the guest list, you will save on food and alcohol. An off-season wedding is also cheaper. A lot of people also choose dates other than Saturday because that is cheaper, but that might be inconvenient for your guests.

There's generally some room for negotiations with DJ and photographer- you can skip getting ready photos and have the photographer around only till cake-cutting, and opt out of additional things like hard cover albums. That might save you a hundred dollars or so. You can have the DJ only for the reception, if you are willing to be without music during ceremony and cocktail hour- it is a hard decision to make, I know.

Skip flowers, programs, STDs, favors. Keep decor to a minimum. A lot of decor items can be bought second-hand (look on FB and Craigslist).

It is possible to save money here and there, but as PPs have said, sometimes a cheap vendor can end up costing you a beautiful wedding, so tread carefully. Good luck!

Instead of asking vendors for discounts, tell ones you are interested in what you can afford to spend and see what they can offer you for that price. I did this with our florist, gave them a general idea of what I wanted, how much I was able to spend and let them tell me what they could do. Now you cannot be ridiculous about this but I was surprised at what the florist was able to do for the amount we wanted to spend. We had to compromise on a few wants but overall the look was exactly what I was going for.

Weddings are not cheap, no matter how large or small they are. However, if you are willing to let go of expectations and really get creative, you can have a gorgeous wedding without going broke. I will say you are likely going to have to increase your budget for the amount of guests you state you want to invite.

Run your numbers and include as much as possible. I was thinking about beach wedding at county park. Add the cost of rentals, the hired security they ask for, lights and sound and it was not so budget. Barn with table, chairs and bunches of little extras it is.

Please beware that you often get what you pay for. I have heard so many horror stories of people hiring cheaper vendors and having horrible results or the vendor not even showing up.
