Anyone able to have a wedding at Legare Waring or Wickliffe House for 50 people under 20k?

I can't offer any great insight...I'm in the midst of planning. My original budget was $20,000 for 50 people but it's proving to be quite difficult in Charleston. Wickliffe was on my original list but I ended up not even going there because we fell in love with a different venue. I was a little nervous about all the rentals needed for both places and how much they would add up.

HI Kim, Thanks for reply. I kind of written off Legare and Magnolia since they venue pricing alone is pretty high. I actually have a site visit to Wickliffe in March. What venue did you fall in love with? I am also interested in Lowndes Grove, just haven't heard back from them with pricing. Any idea if it's in line with Wickliffe, or more like Legare/Magnolia re: venue cost alone? Good luck with the planning. I would love to here some more insight from youSmiley smile

Pricing depends on when you want to get married but Lowndes Grove was a bit pricey. I think $4,500 for Mon-Thursday and upwards of 7,500-9,000 for the weekend during their peak months. They also had food/beverage minimums. ugh!

We actually fell in love with 5 Faber! Halls management group just took it over so they don't have a lot of experience with weddings yet, but the space is beautiful and downtown which is exactly what we were looking for.

Upstairs at midtown felt a little too small for us, but if you're definitely going to have under 50 people that space was adorable. Cannon Green was also do-able if you're open to a Thursday wedding. I didn't visit the confederate house but I sort of remember that being affordable from my research.

Bummer about Lowndes ; so their pricing is in line with Magnolia and Legare then, I guess. I will check out 5Faber. I don't remember reviewing that. I definitely want outdoor space in downtown Charleston. I, too, looked at Confederate House, and it seemed really nice for what I wanted, but I can't get over the name. I can only imagine what my very liberal guests would think about a venue named "Confederate," unfortunatelySmiley smile

Hahah totally understand. If you're looking for outdoor you're not going to like 5 Faber! It's all indoor. There was a different place downtown that looked nice in pictures and I believe they had a blank canvas rooftop you could utilize. Let me search my emails and see if I can find it.

I hope you found a venue! I ended up changing my date to a Sunday since prices were so much more reasonable than Saturdays. I looked at a LOT of venues online and had a whole spreadsheet going trying to compare prices. Its so hard to find a place that doesn't cost $$$$$$. We ended up going with the Creek Club at I'On which is pretty much all inclusive. Our wedding isnt until March 31, 2019 but I feel much better about the planning process now that we have a place and date.

Hi I know this thread is old,

But when I look at cannon Green now it's like insanely expensive....food bev/min in the 10-20k range alone plus the rental fee...It's beautiful and was my first choice...until I saw the pricing. Any insight if they were maybe under different ownership?
